What is a certified translation?

In the United States, anyone can certify a translation.
A translator does not need to be certified in order to provide a certified translation. The individual translator can certify their translations, as can an employee of a translation company.
A translator may also certify someone else's translation—as long as the translator has fully reviewed the translation for accuracy and completeness and the translation will not be changed after being certified. That is why translation companies can certify translations provided by their employees or freelance translators.
The certification statement must specify whether the signer has translated or reviewed the translation.

What is the difference between a certified translation and a notarized translation?
As mentioned in the ATA - American Translators' website: "Some end users of certified translations may request or require that "the translation be notarized." This is actually a misnomer as the translation cannot be notarized. A notary public only legally acknowledges, or notarizes, the identity of the individual signing the certification statement. A certified translation is a translation of a document that includes a Certificate of Accuracy signed by the translator attesting to the accuracy of the translation, while mentioning his/her credentials and qualifications to translate your document. The Certificate of Accuracy bears our stamps and our signatures. It is placed in our letterhead. Most of the time it is a mirror image of the original document. Some documents are translated word for word.
Yes. Most of our certified translations include a notary signature. The notary signature is from the State of Florida and is accepted in the entire United States, Canada and some European countries.
Yes. We are members of ATA - American Translators Association, the well recognized translators association in the United States.
We guarantee confidentiality. We undertake to keep all the information that we learn within the scope of our work in the most strict confidentiality. If you wish we can sign a Non Disclosure Agreement before we start working on your documents. In regards to payments: we never take your credit card information.
